Medical Assistant (MA)

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to:
  • Oral and written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain supplies and provide direct patient care.
  • Support Customer Service Representative with clerical duties such as scheduling and filing.
  • Answer the telephone appropriately and route calls correctly.
  • Assemble patient charts.
• Must be flexible and willing to acquire new or perform different skills.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and exercise independent judgment as needed.
• Must be able to handle a fast-paced, stressful environment while juggling multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• MA Required.
• Courses/Training: Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants, or alternate training program through one of the following: Active National certification/registration: AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, NAHP.
• Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), EMT, or Paramedic Course Completion/Certification AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
• Education and/or Experience: Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred. Bilingual preferred.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Coursework/Training: Graduate of schools for MA diploma/certificate from the military in Medical Specialist Course AND Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic Course Completion/Certification AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
• Graduate of schools for MA diploma/certificate from the military in Medical Specialist Course AND Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic Course Completion/Certification AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
• Coursework/Training: Graduate of schools for MA diploma/certificate from the military in Medical Specialist Course AND Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic Course Completion/Certification AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
