About the role

The Medical Assistant will manage patient flow throughout the clinic and assist providers in managing and treating patients. Responsibilities include collaborating with the Clinic Supervisor, Manager, and Providers to meet defined goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow and assist providers in patient care
• Collaborate with the health care team to communicate progress, concerns, questions, or problems
• Perform delegated tasks as outlined in the Blaze Health Medical Assistant scope of practice
• Receive direction and collaborate with the Clinic Supervisor, Clinic Manager, and Providers to meet defined goals
• Participate in unit-based skills list outlining specific expectations including technical procedures with competency assessment/validation

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program accredited by a recognized accrediting organization (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools) with on-the-job experience and training
• OR Graduate of a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) program accredited by a national health services organization (American Medical Technologists) with on-the-job experience and training and passing the RMA certification exam
• Six (6) months of previous Medical Assistant experience within the North Memorial Health system
• Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred
• Passed X-Ray Operator’s examination, or willing to take exam according to individual clinic needs

Qualifications

• Current BLS Certification
• Registered Medical Assistant certification required if RMA program attended

Skills and Abilities

• Able to prioritize multiple tasks in an efficient manner
• Knowledge of computer software applications

• Sign-On Bonus: Eligible for up to $3,000. Bonus is prorated based on FTE
