About the role

The Medical Assistant (MA) Lead ensures the provision of high quality patient care, assists in daily problem solving, and supervises and develops Medical Assistants (MAs).

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Medical Providers receive sufficient support and assistance.
  • May include standing, sitting, and/or walking for extended periods.
  • May include performing repetitive tasks.
  • May include working with challenging patients and clients.
  • May include lifting up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Current, nationally recognized Medical assistant Certification or Registration required.
  • Current and valid CPR card.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Good communication and customer service skills required.
  • Knowledge of CLIA and OSHA guidelines.
  • Knowledge of sterilization and disinfection procedures.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws and ability to adhere to confidentiality policies.
  • Knowledge of current medical assistant best practices and procedures including EKG and basic drugs.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of patient management software and basic Microsoft office products.
  • EPIC Preferred.
  • Ability to identify and apply proper communication methods in patient instruction.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret and read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
  • Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of a medical assistant to provide ongoing patient care.
  • Strong attention to detail skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Graduate from a recognized Medical Assistant Program.

Skills

  • Ability to implement good safety practices that prevent exposure to known workplace hazards and the necessary action needed when exposed.
