Medical Assistant (Lead)
About the role
The Health and Social Services Department is currently recruiting for two full-time positions in the Family Health Services and Behavioral Health Services Divisions. The mission of Family Health Services (FHS) is to provide superior, comprehensive, primary medical and dental care in order to improve the health and quality of life of Solano County residents. We have a special commitment to the uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we are a safety net provider.
Responsibilities
- Expand Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services and guide the work assignments for all Medical Assistants within Behavioral Health Services.
- Support Medical Assistants with clinical tasks including vital signs, ANC testing, coordinating lab services, EKGs, etc.
- Coordinate with physicians, caseworkers, community and support services, and appropriate primary care referral needs for clients upon transitions from services, jails, or hospitals.
- Conduct medical reviews of clients, facilitate appropriate referrals, and transport clients as needed to promote service engagement.
- Serve as a liaison to emergency departments, county jail, local medical providers, and internal clinics to assist clients in accessing MAT services.
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience performing duties comparable to the County of Solano class of Medical Assistant.
- Valid California Driver’s License, Class C.
- Valid Medical Assistant certificate issued by an accredited college or institution, including training in laboratory drawing of blood and collection of other specimens, venipuncture, injection administration, and performing Electrocardiograms (EKGs) and/or X-ray procedures including chest X-rays (CXR) and extremities.
- Valid Phlebotomy Certificate.
- Valid CPR Certificate.
Qualifications
Education and certification verification is required for this position. All candidates must submit a copy of the following by the application review deadline:
- A copy of a valid medical assistant certificate issued by an accredited college or institution with required "hands-on" (classroom/lab) training verification (provide additional certifications and/or transcripts if necessary).
- A copy of a valid Phlebotomy Certificate.
- A copy of a valid CPR Certificate.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Pay
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Full-time position, working 40 hours per week.
