About the role

Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics, and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), OR Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologist (AMT), OR Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency testing (NCCT), OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Registry of Medical Assistants, OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) from National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), OR Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) from the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card.
  • Must be able to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications: High school or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience: Six (6) months medical assistant experience.
  • Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology (CPT) and/or International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) coding.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.

Hawai‘i Pacific Health offers a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that includes pay and benefits. Rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity.

Pay

Pay Range: 28.62 - 30.13 USD per hour
