Medical Assistant Instructor - Full Time

About the role
The Full-Time Medical Assistant Instructor will teach in a blended course environment, combining face-to-face interaction (in-class discussions, group work, lectures, and lab work) with web-based technologies (discussion boards, forums, and a learning management system). This role supports active learning and flexible scheduling while maintaining the value of in-person instruction.
Responsibilities
- Participate in student retention efforts, including identifying and assisting "at-risk" students.
- Prepare and deliver lecture, laboratory, and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum.
- Follow or develop course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms as directed by the Program Manager.
- Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events and monitor student attendance and retention.
- Process course end grades, grade assignments, and provide timely feedback to students.
- Offer educational assistance during office hours or by appointment.
- Substitute in classes when necessary and advise students on school policies and performance.
- Maintain communication with the Program Manager regarding student issues.
- Submit textbook, supply, and equipment needs in writing to the Lead Instructor or Program Manager.
- Monitor equipment and supply inventory in locked facilities and secure consumable supplies.
- Maintain a professional appearance and expertise through faculty development (e.g., seminars, literature, online courses).
- Ensure students follow catalog guidelines daily and attend all mandatory meetings.
- Serve on committees (e.g., curriculum development, retention) as assigned.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant.
- Three (3) years of experience in the field.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience in a blended teaching environment preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Ability to relocate to Pasco, WA before starting work (required).
Pay
$25 - $28.66/hour, dependent on experience, knowledge, and education level.
