About the Role
We are looking for a bright, energetic medical assistant to assist our pulmonary physicians in managing their busy practice. The ideal candidate will work closely with insurance companies for pre-authorizations of medical supplies, medications, tests, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Handle preauthorization for tests and procedures
- Schedule patients for tests and procedures
- Order oxygen and supplies for patients
- Obtain O2 saturations and vital signs
- Perform EKGs if necessary
- Answer and return phone calls
- Manage the enterprise computer system
Requirements
- Critical thinking and good communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
