About the Role
We are seeking a back office Medical Assistant to join our team. This role involves preparing patients for examinations, performing in-office procedures, and assisting healthcare providers to ensure high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Check in and prepare patients for office visits, examinations, and procedures.
- Obtain vital signs and perform in-office procedures/treatments (EKG, spirometry, peak flow, bone density, nebulizer treatments).
- Relay laboratory test results conducted in the office.
- Obtain and record patient histories (medical, surgical, social, etc.).
- Record medication and allergies for individual patients.
- Assist physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners with examinations or in-office procedures.
- Prepare and administer immunizations and injections as ordered by healthcare providers.
- Monitor patients after injections/vaccinations.
- Handle incoming phone calls from patients, pharmacies, other physician offices, testing resources, and insurance companies.
- Notify patients of test results and communicate follow-up instructions.
- Review and process refill requests from pharmacies following office protocols.
- Clean and sanitize examination and procedure rooms.
- Clean, wrap, and sterilize instruments.
Requirements
- 1 year of professional back-office Medical Assistant experience.
- Dependable, polite, and courteous.
- Proficient, accurate, and thorough in all tasks.
- Resourceful and able to adapt and improvise as needed.
- Able to prioritize tasks accurately.
- Team player who collaborates well with all departments and staff.
- Passionate about providing the best care to patients.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (preferred).
- 1 year of experience with Athena EMR (preferred).
- Ability to commute to Austin, TX 78735 (preferred).

Pay
Compensation range: $20.00 to $30.00 per hour. The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (with occasional Saturdays 8:00 AM–12:00 PM).
