About the role

The role of Medical Assistant (MA) involves supporting the Cast Room. The MA acts as a liaison between patients, providers, and other care team members. Key responsibilities include coordinating patient flow by assisting in clinical data collection and review for patient intake, ensuring the appropriate information is available to the provider, and entering pertinent history in the medical record. The MA also performs and assists with clinical procedures as directed by the provider and according to protocols.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Data Collection and Review: Assists in collecting and reviewing clinical data for patient intake, ensuring all necessary information is available to the provider.
• Entering Information: Enters pertinent patient history into the medical record.
• Supporting Procedures: Assists in performing and assisting with clinical procedures as directed by the provider.
• Mentoring: Mentors and trains new Medical Assistants.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of a certified Medical Assistant program or MA certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA).
• BLS through AHA within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant I: 2 years of experience.
• Medical Assistant II: 2 years of experience.
• Medical Assistant III: 5+ years of experience.

Skills

• Basic clinical and administrative skills.
• Advanced clinical and administrative skills.
• Proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks.
• Experience in quality improvement initiatives and advanced patient care.
• Ability to serve as a coach, preceptor, and mentor to new medical assistant associates.
