Medical Assistant I

About the Role

The Medical Assistant supports clinicians by performing routine clinical procedures, testing, and patient preparation. They ensure all pre-visit tasks are completed, update and maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR), and assist with patient flow and communication.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and prepare patients for exams
• Reconcile medications and perform point-of-care testing
• Address minor patient concerns
• Facilitate patient appointments and prepare exam rooms
• Collect vital signs and assist with clinical procedures
• Ensure accuracy of electronic medical records (EMR)
• Communicate visit updates and perform waived testing

The role emphasizes delivering quality patient care within a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or Medical Assistant Certification
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain it
• Proficiency with computers and EMR systems
• Knowledge of testing procedures and reagent storage (preferred)
• ACLS certification may be preferred
• Experience in clinical or customer service settings (advantageous)
