About the role
We are seeking either a Certified Medical Assistant or a motivated Pre-Certified Medical Assistant eligible for on-the-job training (OJT) to join our collaborative medical team.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care under the supervision of licensed healthcare providers.
- Assist in various medical procedures and treatments.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and billing.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications: Certified Medical Assistant or Pre-Certified Medical Assistant eligible for OJT.
- Additional requirements:
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
- Basic knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding conventions.
- Working knowledge of medical documentation standards.
- Familiarity with practice management systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA.
Preferred
- AAMA certification.
- Two (2) years of medical assisting experience.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant: Required – Current Certification from ONE of the following or ability to receive certification within 6 months of hire:
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
- National Health career Association (NHA – CCMA)
- OR licensure as Oregon EMT (Intermediate or Paramedic).
