About the role

The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive patient experience and efficient clinic operations. This position requires a combination of clinical skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere
• Register patients, perform vitals, obtain medical histories, and document accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Support providers during patient visits
• Perform blood draws, EKGs, injections, and specimen collection as permitted
• Register patients, handle insurance verification, schedule appointments, and collect payments
• Ensure documentation is accurate and organized in the EMR
• Support the team during busy shifts by assisting with various clinic tasks
• Contribute to maintaining a clean, efficient, and positive clinic environment

Requirements

• Prior clinical experience with 1-2+ years in an outpatient setting
• A friendly, polished, and professional demeanor
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Flexibility to work varying clinic schedules and nearby locations
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Willingness to be coachable and eager to grow

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR certification
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures
