The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive patient experience and efficient clinic operations. This role requires a warm welcome, accurate documentation, and a supportive team dynamic.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere
- Register patients, perform vitals, obtain medical history, and document accurately in the EMR
- Support providers during patient visits
- Perform blood draws, EKGs, injections, and specimen collection as permitted
- Register patients, handle insurance verification, schedule appointments, and collect payments
- Ensure documentation is accurate and organized within the EMR
- Support teammates during busy shifts
- Help maintain a clean, efficient, and positive clinic environment
Requirements
- Prior clinical experience with 1-2+ years in an outpatient setting
- A friendly, polished, and professional demeanor
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Flexibility to support various clinic schedules and locations
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Willingness to be coached and grow professionally
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR)
