About the Role

This position is located in the Professional Building within the General Surgery department. You will assist APRNs and physicians by preparing patients for examinations and assisting with patient care, including procedures. Responsibilities include:

  • Accurately transcribing information into patients' electronic medical records.
  • Performing clerical duties and operating office equipment and computers.
  • Assisting in scheduling and obtaining precertification for surgeries.
  • Performing phlebotomy (no waived testing).

Schedule

Full-time, 8-hour day shift:

  • Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent (preferred).
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification (preferred).
  • One-year experience in a clinical area (preferred).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • General office skills and knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).

Working Conditions

  • Primarily works in a medical office setting with a consistent shift and unit.
  • Requires moderate to frequent lifting (excess of 50 lbs.), bending, and assisting patients using correct techniques.
  • Must be able to operate office equipment, computers, and computerized lab equipment.
  • Likely exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
  • Extensive walking during shifts.
