About the role
Join our team as a day shift, full-time Medical Assistant at INTEGRIS HEALTH Medical Group Gastroenterology Outpatient Clinic in Edmond, OK.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care by taking vitals, patient history, venipuncture, lab, x-ray, referrals, and patient phone messages as directed by the provider and/or clinical supervisor
- Gather and document information about patient condition, including lab values, pain levels, patient education needs, nutritional status and potential complications
- Contribute to the assessment/re-assessment of patients
- Monitor and document patient status
- Participate in the development of the plan of care, including implementation and evaluation of appropriate patient care interventions which may include medication administration (exclusive of narcotics)
- Manage large call volume while maintaining excellent telephone etiquette
- Organize workflow to meet patient needs in a timely manner
- Retrieve and transport medications
- Report to assigned director, manager, supervisor or lead
Qualifications
- Current nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification/registration; OR 6 months of clinic MA experience AND 6 months of customer service experience preferred
- CPR or BLS certification within 90 days of employment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written)
