Medical Assistant - Gastroenterology Clinic

About the role

North Alabama Medical Center is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. This Medical Assistant (MA) position is based at North Alabama Gastroenterology Clinic, 416 N. Seminary Street, Florence, AL 35630.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Documents patient care given.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Requirements

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• High School diploma.
• Minimum of 6 months clinical experience.
• CCMA, CMA or RMA preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Full Time: Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm, Fridays 8:00am - 12:00pm.
