About the role
Beloit Health System is adding a Medical Assistant to their team at Beloit Clinic Gastroenterology.
Responsibilities
- Aid in rooming patients and monitoring patient flow.
- Return phone messages and obtain patient histories and vital signs.
- Administer medications and assist with diagnostic procedures and/or treatments.
- Maintain and update accurate electronic medical records.
- Prepare patient documentation and escort patients to rooms.
- Ensure consent is signed and dated for procedures and perform "Time out" with Physician/LIP when appropriate.
- Assist with examinations and/or procedures, and educate patients and families.
- Schedule patients for appointments and ensure patient safety during medication handling and transportation.
Requirements
- Certified or Registered as Medical Assistant at time of employment.
- CPR certified within 3 months of hire.
- Strong critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and counseling skills.
- Two years clinical experience desirable.
- Willingness to learn phlebotomy and point of care labs.
Qualifications
- Preferred experience with Electronic Medical Records and prior experience in Gastroenterology.
- May require working some irregular hours.
