About the role
VIVO Infusion is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team in Millburn, NJ. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role within the infusion center as part of a collaborative medical team.
Responsibilities
- Welcomes patients, updates patient charts, and communicates pertinent patient data to providers and nurses.
- Assists with administrative tasks such as scheduling, managing phone calls, and processing payments.
- Oversees and ensures efficient turnover of exam rooms.
- Aids in collecting, preparing, and submitting lab specimens as directed.
- Triage patient phone calls and messages and documents them appropriately.
- Manages supplies and disinfects exam rooms.
- Assists with obtaining prior authorizations for prescribed treatments and documents.
- Supports the Patient Services team as needed.
- Assists in obtaining records required for the patient's chart.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills and reports patient issues as needed.
- Fulfills infection control protocols as per company and CDC guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
- CPR/BLS certification required prior to start date.
- One year of experience working within a clinical environment.
- One year in an administrative, patient-facing, or customer service role.
- Phlebotomy and lab processing skills preferred.

- Computer skills for electronic recordkeeping.
- Effective handling of hazardous materials.

Pay and Schedule
- Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00
- Bonus Plan Target: 5% annually (based on performance).
