Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Services include emergency medical care, orthopedic surgeries, maternity, and behavioral health services.
Responsibilities
- Support registered nurse with Occupational Health and Wellness.
- Fulfill patient care responsibilities as assigned by RN, including:
- Checking schedules and organizing patient flow.
- Taking vital signs, performing lab draws, drug and alcohol testing.
- Relaying instructions to patients.
- Answering and returning phone calls and emails.
- Fulfill clerical responsibilities as assigned, including:
- Sending/receiving patient medical records.
- Obtaining lab reports, hospital notes, and referral information.
- Completing forms/requisitions as needed.
- Scheduling appointments.
- Managing patient charts to ensure information is completed and accurate.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Medical Assistant Certification with 2 years of related experience.
- Minimum of two years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Phlebotomy skills required.
- Certification to collect Drug Screens and perform Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) preferred, or acquired at time of hire.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to work independently and be detail-oriented.
- Excellent interpersonal and computer skills.
