Job Summary

In collaboration with the Medical Director and other clinical staff, provides patient care to assist in all aspects of medical practice. Assists with patient care management, executes administrative and clinical procedures, adheres to ethical and legal standards, recognizes and responds to emergencies, and demonstrates professional characteristics.

Essential Functions

  • Assists the Medical Director and other clinical staff with the completion of patient intake processes.
  • Completes all clinical documentation as required by the physician, lead nurse, RN supervisor and Clinical/Program Director.
  • Promptly communicates patient issues or concerns to the Medical Director and to the Program Director for other matters.
  • Prepares patients for the physician's care, follows aseptic procedures while providing patient care, and performs liznon-intravenous injections including Mantoux testing.
  • Performs basic laboratory procedures to include collection of patient specimens, operates office medical equipment, administers medication as directed by and under supervision of the physician, provides basic first aid as needed.
  • Performs office procedures including all general administrative duties required by the physician, lead nurse or RN supervisor and Clinical/Program Directors.
  • Maintains proper licensure and/or certification according to specific state requirements.
  • Complies with all Local, State, Federal and Colonial Management Group, LP rules, regulations and policies.
  • Acts always in the best interest of patients, the program and company; honors, supports, and protects the proprietary rights of patients and the company.
  • Interfaces with the public and patients by answering phones, greeting visitors, and monitoring patient activities while on center premises.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent and certified medical assistant.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products, especially Google Suite.
  • Experience in performing duties as a CMA.
  • Previous health care or substance abuse/mental health experience is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and be dependable, reliable and flexible.
  • Physical strength for sedentary work.
  • Clear vision at 20 inches or less and distant vision at 20 feet or more.
  • Reasoning ability to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Basic mathematics (including statistics) skills required.
  • Communicates fluently in English, second language proficiency helpful.
