Medical Assistant Float-Administration-Baseline (8am-5pm)

Essential Functions

• Performs and completes clinical and non-clinical assigned duties, tasks, responsibilities, and assignments in the front and back office.
• Adheres to and follows procedures for immunization and medication administration, including but not limited to labeling, storing, and utilizing.
• Performs and adheres to all Clinical Laboratory of Improvement Amendments (CLIA) testing instructions; collects specimens, processes, and documents results in the electronic health records (EHR).
• Fulfills provider orders within scope of practice and provides patients’ discharge instructions.
• Affords assistance with coordinating the continuity of patient care with internal health departments.
• Maintains proper levels of supplies in exam rooms and prepares exam room for patient care and procedures.
• Identifies and reports any safety hazard, or potential hazard, by directly notifying supervisory staff immediately of concerns.
• Interviews patients to obtain reasons for visit, history, and chief complaints; performs vital signs and other patient care needs.
• Utilizes and abides by proper charting and documenting procedures for all patient related services, exams, interactions, and assignments performed.
• Travels to multiple locations as assigned which may include a location change during shift.

Position Qualifications

• Must have reliable transportation in order to commute to various facilities, as required, and remain on the Approved Driver’s List.
• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Graduate of a medical assistant program.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Completion of the MA Preceptor program or Champion User requirements as needed for assignment.
