About the Role

A Medical Assistant supporting healthcare providers in a primary and urgent care practice, focusing on patient intake, clinical assistance, and maintaining a safe, efficient environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient intake, obtain medical history, and verify information.
  • Document vital signs and ensure accurate electronic medical records.
  • Assist providers during examinations and perform point-of-care tests.
  • Maintain supplies, disinfect treatment rooms, and ensure a safe environment.
  • Provide excellent patient service, communicate effectively, and follow HIPAA guidelines.
  • Support front office duties when needed, including scheduling and phone handling.
  • Manage logs, checks, and address messages in the EMR system.
  • Participate in trainings and maintain certifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; graduate of a healthcare program (e.g., Medical Assistant, CNA, LPN, EMT).
  • Certification preferred; CMA highly desirable.
  • Strong computer skills and EMR experience preferred.
  • Minimum Medical Assistant experience required.
  • BLS certification necessary.
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions

  • Standing, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Visual acuity required.
  • No supervisory responsibilities.

Pay

$21 - $27 per hour.
