About the Role
A Medical Assistant supporting healthcare providers in a primary and urgent care practice, focusing on patient intake, clinical assistance, and maintaining a safe, efficient environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intake, obtain medical history, and verify information.
- Document vital signs and ensure accurate electronic medical records.
- Assist providers during examinations and perform point-of-care tests.
- Maintain supplies, disinfect treatment rooms, and ensure a safe environment.
- Provide excellent patient service, communicate effectively, and follow HIPAA guidelines.
- Support front office duties when needed, including scheduling and phone handling.
- Manage logs, checks, and address messages in the EMR system.
- Participate in trainings and maintain certifications.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; graduate of a healthcare program (e.g., Medical Assistant, CNA, LPN, EMT).
- Certification preferred; CMA highly desirable.
- Strong computer skills and EMR experience preferred.
- Minimum Medical Assistant experience required.
- BLS certification necessary.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions
- Standing, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Visual acuity required.
- No supervisory responsibilities.
Pay
$21 - $27 per hour.
