Responsibilities

• Assist the licensed health care professional in performing a variety of tasks including rooming patients, monitoring patient flow, returning phone messages, obtaining patient histories and vital signs, administering medications, assisting with diagnostic procedures and/or treatments, maintaining the patient's medical record, stocking rooms and assisting with medical emergencies.
• Aid in scheduling appointments, completing pre-certifications, completing patient forms - i.e. FMLA, short-term, long-term disability forms, etc., refilling medications per protocol, assisting with clinical duties, ordering supplies, and cleaning exam rooms.

Requirements

• Certified or Registered as Medical Assistant at time of employment
• Must be CPR certified within 3 months of hire
• Strong critical thinking abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication and counseling skills
• Two years clinical experience desirable
• Willingness to learn phlebotomy and point of care labs
• Preferred Experience with Electronic Medical Records and prior experience in Family Practice or Internal Medicine
• May require working some irregular hours
