Medical Assistant - Family Medicine

About the role

The Medical Assistant (MA) is part of a team concept for the delivery of patient care in the ambulatory clinic setting with an emphasis on disease prevention and health maintenance. This individual will work closely with the clinical staff, front desk personnel and other related departments.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate the needs of the clinician and carries out orders.
• Checks Electronic Health Record (EHR) for patients' arrival status and escorts patients from waiting area to exam rooms.
• Obtains, records, and reports vital signs and any other pertinent patient information for the RN, LVN, or clinician.
• Aids clinician with procedures.
• Maintains and cleans exam/treatment areas, specimen processing areas, and medical equipment.
• Instructs patient on lab, radiology, and other procedure/testing preparations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Phlebotomy certificate preferred.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.

Pay

Starting wage $25.89 to $31.38 based on qualifications.
