Medical Assistant, Family Medicine

Full-time, 100% FTE, day/evening shift. Shifts are scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

About the role

• Prepare patients for examination
• Obtain vital signs
• Document chief complaint, medications, and allergies
• Perform EKGs
• Administer medications and treatments

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent and ONE of the following:

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program
• Licensure as an LPN
• Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or an Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program
• Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UWH employee
• Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program – Accelerated
• One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA, or CCMA Certification

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN (Preferred)
• Certified as MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within 1 Year (Required)
• Licensure as an LPN (Required if applicable)
• Current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification (Required if applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure)
• CPR/BLS certification (Required)
