Shift Details

  • 40 hours/week, Full Time
  • Clinic hours: Monday- Friday 6:30am-6:00pm
  • Schedule varies based on coverage
  • 4 10-hour shifts with one day off per week

About the Role

This position involves providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting, caring for patients with acute and chronic needs, and communicating clearly with patients through various modalities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program
  • One year of Medical Assistant work experience
  • Current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in Utah
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills
  • Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI)
  • Utah Only: Completion of a yearlong MA residency program if certified with less than one year of MA experience
  • Preferred qualifications: Experience in outpatient clinics or other healthcare settings, computer literacy in EMR systems, and national MA certification

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors requiring verbal communication, hearing, and understanding spoken information quickly and accurately, especially during emergencies
  • Manual dexterity for manipulating complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Computer use and typing for documentation, accessing information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Lifting and utilizing full range of movement to transfer patients, retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, push/pull gurneys and portable equipment, navigate crowded and busy rooms, stand in a stationary position for extended periods, and drive a vehicle
