About the role
The Medical Assistant will assist the provider in facilitating patient visits and procedures, conducting routine laboratory tests, making referrals, and contributing to quality outcomes for the practice's patient population.
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use, including cleaning and stocking supplies.
- Room patients and manage an efficient flow of the provider’s caseload.
- Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collections.
- Document care using the EPIC EMR system.
- Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols.
- Process referrals and medication refills.
- Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.
Qualifications
- Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED plus one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
- Medical Assistant certification required within six months of hire.
