Medical Assistant (Family Medicine)

The Medical Assistant supports family medicine providers in delivering high-quality patient care by performing both clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced outpatient setting located at 4550 Gus Thommason Rd Ste 40, Mesquite, TX 75150.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during procedures
• Perform basic clinical tasks including injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing as permitted by state regulations
• Administer medications and vaccines under provider direction
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Provide patient education and follow-up instructions
• Clean and stock exam rooms and maintain clinical supplies
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Previous experience in family medicine, primary care, or outpatient clinic settings preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant Certification
• Knowledge of computers and data entry with a high level of accuracy
• Bilingual in Spanish, Burmese, Pashto, Rohingya is a plus
• eClinicalWorks (EMR) experience preferred
• BLS/CPR Certification up to date
