About the role

The position involves performing various patient care duties within the business and professions code of the State of California and/or the regulations of The Joint Commission (TJC).

Responsibilities

• Scheduling of patient appointments and associated patient system screens
• Chart preparation
• Accurate billing
• Obtaining prior authorization for medications
• Durable Medical Equipment (DME) follow-up
• Managing in-basket messages
• Environmental care functions
• Equipment/supply management
• Cleaning/disinfecting the environment

Requirements

• Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Medical Assistant
• Experience scheduling patient appointments, chart preparation and managing in-basket messages
• Demonstrated knowledge of prior authorization for medications and DME follow-up
• Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology, on-line scheduling, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize demands and work in a team environment

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date
• Experience in a Pulmonary or Sleep setting
• Durable Medical Equipment experience
• Experience with EPIC and Cadence module
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Skills

Knowledge of medical terminology, online scheduling, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics.

Pay

Annual Full Pay Range: $52,847 - $65,772 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hiring Pay Scale: $25.31 - $31.50 / Hour
