About the role
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting providers and ensuring seamless patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing charts, including PDMP reports and necessary consents
- Assisting with patient discharge and providing after-visit summaries
- Cleaning and restocking exam rooms to ensure readiness
- Performing various procedures such as EKGs, injections, vaccines, and ear irrigations with precision
- Completing controlled medication tasks following strict protocols
- Providing training to new Medical Assistants and contributing to special projects
- Handling complex phone calls requiring skilled communication and decision-making
- Flexibility and teamwork are essential for taking on additional responsibilities as needed to support Praxis Health’s commitment to patient care
- Rooming patients, obtaining vitals, medical history, and allergy/asthma updates
- Accurately documenting in Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Managing clinical tasks including prior authorizations, referrals, and prescription support
- Contributing to daily team flow, supporting both patients and fellow staff
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment
- Reliable and consistent attendance
Requirements
- High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited vocational institution or a community college program preferred
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or CNA
- Ability to multi-task and provide support to multiple providers
- Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
- BLS certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred

Schedule
Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay
$21-$25/hour, depending on experience

Work Environment: Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings. Collaborative, fast-paced healthcare setting focused on high-quality patient care. Works closely with providers and care team to ensure efficient patient flow and positive patient experiences. Punctuality and regular attendance are essential for team reliability.
