Medical Assistant - Endocrinology
About the role
As a Medical Assistant in Endocrinology at Quincy Medical Group, you will play a key role in supporting patients with a wide range of endocrine conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, and hormonal imbalances. Working closely with endocrinology providers and the care team, you will assist with patient visits, chronic disease management, in-office procedures, and ongoing patient education to support long-term health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, medical histories, and visit information.
- Aid providers with examinations, procedures, and in-office clinical support.
- Support chronic disease management workflows, including diabetes education and monitoring.
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments within scope of practice.
- Cook up referrals, lab work, imaging, prescriptions, and follow-up appointments.
- Communicate test results, provider instructions, and patient education materials.
- Respond to patient phone calls, messages, and clinical inquiries in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Support patient education related to endocrine conditions, medication adherence, and treatment plans.
- Ensure exam rooms and clinical areas are prepared, clean, and stocked.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support endocrinology clinic operations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- A current Medical Assistant certification is preferred or eligibility to obtain one.
- CPR certification is required (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Previous clinical experience in a physician office or specialty clinic is preferred.
- Experience working with chronic disease populations, especially diabetes, is preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and patient education skills are essential.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced specialty care environment is necessary.
- Comfort with electronic medical records and basic clinical systems is required.

Pay
The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.12 - $24.18 with actual pay determined by experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through bonuses and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
