About the role

As a Medical Assistant in our Endocrinology department, you will join the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide our recognized compassionate health services to patients and their families. You will perform a wide variety of patient care activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
  • Administer medications and injections
  • Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory tests
  • Take vital signs and record patient data
  • Prepare examination rooms and equipment
  • Communicate with patients and their families regarding their health status and treatment plans
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and updating patient records

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) from AAMA, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from AMT, Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from NCCT, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from AMTA, Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) from NAHP, Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) from AMCA, or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from NHA
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card
  • Ability to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period

Skills

  • Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology (CPT) and/or International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) coding
  • Experience with electronic medical records

Rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity.
