About the role

Finds employment at Straub Benioff Medical Center, an esteemed healthcare institution founded in 1921. Straub Benioff Medical Center encompasses a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics, and a visiting specialist program covering the entire state of Hawai'i. It is home to over 200 physicians specializing in more than 32 medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular, and urology. Straub also houses the Pacific Region's only multidisciplinary burn treatment center and consistently introduces new technologies and innovative medical practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of patient care activities in the Electrophysiology department.
  • Provide compassionate health services to patients and their families.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with medical standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), ABR-OE from AAMA, RMA from AMT, NCMA from NCCT, RMA from ARMA, NRCMA from NAHP, CMAC from AMCA, CCMA from NHA, or Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA).
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card.
  • Ability to complete departmental competency assessment by the conclusion of the orientation period.

Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented and attentive.
  • Strong communications and patient care skills.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology (CPT) and/or International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) coding.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
