About the role

Providing clinical support for physicians in a busy and dynamic medical practice. Administrative and back‑office hands‑on clinical support utilizing advanced patient care skills and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for each visit by using the practice triage process and vitalizing.
• Answers phones and takes comprehensive messages.
• Reviews and updates past medical, surgical, and hospital information in an EMR system.
• Processes medication refills according to practice protocols.
• Learns and communicates patient education topics clearly and concisely.
• Learns, comprehends, and interprets alert lab values and follows practice protocols.
• Learns and interprets alert imaging results and follows practice protocols.
• Learns and follows billing, payment, and insurance protocols, including processing patient payments due at the time of visit.
• Performs injections (subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal).
• Keeps supplies and equipment at operational levels.
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following practice standards.
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential (HIPAA).
• Adheres to professional standards, policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements.
• May be required to travel as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
