Medical Assistant - Digestive Health

About the role

Munson Healthcare is a large healthcare system in northern Michigan, serving over half a million residents across 29 counties. The role involves completing clinical and administrative tasks within a clinic, supporting patients, and ensuring smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Room and prepare patients according to clinic-specific checklists or procedures
• Measure patient vital signs such as weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and others
• Complete required patient care documentation including Medical Histories, referral requests, etc.
• Assist with day-to-day operations as needed, including assisting fellow teammates and providers

Requirements

• Credentialed Medical Assistant: High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred, credentialed from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization, BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained
• Non-Credentialed Medical Assistant: High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred, one year (1) relevant experience working in a physician practice or similar healthcare setting, Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program approved by Munson Healthcare, BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained
