Medical Assistant - Diabetes & Metabolism
Description
Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their Center for Diabetes in Hartford. The Medical Assistant coordinates patient flow, prepares patients for visits, escorts them to treatment rooms, gathers necessary information, and documents details in the patient's chart.
What You Will Do
- Prepares the room and patient for examination and treatment.
- Obtains pertinent history, enters into the medical record, and takes/document vital signs.
- Serves as a scribe between patient and physician, documenting relevant information in treatment rooms.
- Processes and files lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, and clinical notes in the patient's chart.
- Notifies providers and other departments of diagnostic testing results.
- Affirms accurate and complete documentation on patient records.
- Aids receptionist in making sure patients are seen promptly.
- Assists front office personnel by handling phone calls and correspondence.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience preferred.
- National Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
