Medical Assistant - Dermatology-Troy - Part Time (24 Hours)

About the role

The Medical Assistant will work under the supervision of the provider and nursing leadership to provide a range of administrative and clinical support services to patients.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms.
• Obtaining medical histories.
• Measuring and recording vital signs.
• Preparing patients for examinations or procedures.
• Aiding providers during examinations or procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred.
• Ability to perform various clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
• Epic (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred.
• Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA/CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a 160-hour minimum clinical externship.
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without an externship but with at least one year of clinical experience in the past five years.
• Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with at least five years of experience.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one year of clinical experience in the past five years.
• Military-trained medical personnel with at least one year of clinical experience in the past five years.

Skills

• Problem-solving ability.

Benefits

• Flexible shift hours: Monday/Wednesday/Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, occasionally until 5 pm on Fridays if the day runs late.
• 5 Saturdays per year (half day 7:30 am - 12 pm).

Pay

• $1,000 sign-on bonus.
