Medical Assistant - Credentialed

About the Role

Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepare patients for physician examinations, and perform various clerical duties under the supervision of the Office Coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Consistently arrive at work on time and adhere to regular work schedule.
• Assist physicians with patient care, including minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.
• Perform clerical duties: answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling patient charts.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare exam rooms for use.
• Prepare patients for physicians by taking histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.
• Sterilize and prepare instruments.
• Call in prescription refills at the request of the physician.
• Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
• Follow up on lab work and/or x-rays.
• Administer injections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Consistently arrive at work in appropriate/professional attire.
• Complete all tasks within established time frames.
• Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
• Seek appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assist co-workers as needed.
• Demonstrate adaptability to expanded roles.
• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA).
• Clearance from the Medicare Exclusion List.

Qualifications

• Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.
• Preferred: Clinical medical assisting experience.
