About the role
This position performs both clinical and clerical functions in the Urology Clinic. The Medical Assistant is responsible for patient flow, chaperoning, stocking rooms, ordering tests and supplies, and ensuring timely documentation in EPIC to support provider note dictation and encounter closure.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine clinical skills for patient care, including taking vital signs, weight, height, and assisting with procedures as needed
- Document patient information in EPIC, ensuring all required documentation is complete in time for provider review
- Manage patient flow and provide quality customer service
- Chaperone patients during examinations and procedures
- Stock exam rooms and order necessary tests and supplies
- Perform service tasks delegated by RNs, nurse practitioners, or physicians
- Collaborate with other department personnel to maintain efficient clinic operations
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a Medical Assisting program
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- CPR certification (preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date)
