Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant assists with direct patient care and performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol. Duties include:

• Assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients
• Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration)
• Complete patient interviews and histories
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments; explain procedures
• Assist with procedures as ordered by a physician, including examinations, treatments, and special tests
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients
• Collect samples such as blood, urine, and sputum; perform routine laboratory tests on samples
• Manage and organize the medical office’s inbox, ensuring timely and accurate communication with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders
• Oversee the reception of incoming patient information and gather necessary data for healthcare providers

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent, along with at least one of the following:

• A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience
• Military Medic training
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education

Preferences:

• Medical Assistant Certification

USD $18.20 - USD $29.33 per hour
