Get better.” We are seeking a caring, courteous, and efficient Certified Medical Assistant to deliver high-quality healthcare services in a clinical setting, ensuring consistent patient care and acting as a liaison between patients and medical providers.

About the role

This full-time position requires 3 × 12-hour shifts with a rotating weekend schedule. You must be willing to float between the Milledgeville, Perry, Warner Robins, and Bonaire clinics. Our centers are open seven days a week from 8 am – 8 pm, providing walk-in care for injury, illness, minor emergencies, and family care.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with personnel and patients.
  • Assist the Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner in urgent-care and occupational-medicine settings.
  • Perform patient intake, handle calls, conduct lab work, take general x-rays, administer medication, and assist in minor surgery.
  • Demonstrate professional interpersonal and communication skills when greeting visitors, patients, and staff.
  • Perform duties within your scope of practice and maintain all quality-control and compliance measures.
  • Keep equipment clean and safe; prepare and maintain exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment; document patient complaints, vital signs, current medications, and allergies.
  • Initiate patient care before the provider’s exam according to standing orders.
  • Perform lab tests, administer medications (PO, SQ, IM, intradermal, eye/ear drops, topical) as ordered by a licensed provider.
  • Perform venipuncture per policy and apply dressings as instructed.
  • Follow proper procedures for occupational-health services and radiographic-image collection where applicable.
  • Provide direct patient care as instructed by the provider; ensure proper consents are obtained and signed.
  • Prepare supplies and equipment for treatments; assist in minor surgeries and exams.
  • Perform wound care as instructed; assist with scheduling tests, treatments, and referrals.
  • Reassure patients, answer questions, and exhibit cooperation with other departments and physicians’ offices.
  • Follow procedures for authorized medication administration and narcotic control.
  • Communicate questions about medical care through the chain of command.
  • Review written discharge instructions with patients or responsible parties.
  • Answer telephone calls per department standards, relay information as directed, and document accordingly.
  • Complete routine equipment checks, stock supplies, and notify staff of ordering needs.
  • Attend pertinent in-service and educational conferences and quarterly staff meetings.
  • Keep knowledge and skills current; adhere to safety and infection-control standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistant (certification preferred).
  • Licensed Practical Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians, Basic Machine Operators, and Radiologic Technologists must be graduates of an accredited school with current State licensure.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Reliable transportation to commute to assigned regional offices.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and with patients in a high-paced facility.
  • Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair when appropriate.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Experience

Minimum of 1–2 years in an outpatient or clinic setting preferred.

Schedule

Full-time: 3 × 12-hour shifts with a rotating weekend schedule.
