Medical Assistant (CMA/ EMT/ LPN)

About the role
This position provides exceptional support to providers and the team to ensure a seamless flow between examination and treatment. Employees in this role act as the liaison between patients and medical providers.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical intake including obtaining patient’s medical history, current medications, chief complaint, vital signs, and record information within the EMR system.
- Administer medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood, and assist providers with procedures in or out of the exam room.
- Perform diagnostic tests including eye exams, electrocardiograph, audiogram, peak flow, and other basic nursing functions.
- Perform both DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens using proper chain of custody; ensure preparation for pick-up and shipment to the appropriate laboratory (on-the-job training provided).
- Monitor disposable inventory, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals.
- Complete medical charting to include medical services rendered, test results, and supplies used.
- Escort or transport patients by wheelchair when appropriate.
Requirements
- Medical Assistant (Certified, Certified Clinical, Registered, or a certificate of completion from your school is preferred, but not required). Proof of current certification is needed if you are a CMA.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) must provide proof of current certification.
- Two years of clinical experience preferred.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving/communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of EMR systems.
- Ability to travel to multiple clinic centers across the defined region to support critical shifts; access to reliable transportation is required. Mileage is paid for travel outside your defined home region.
Schedule
Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week with a rotation on weekends and some holidays. Schedule alternates between three days one week and four days the next, resulting in 3-4 days off each week. Clinics are closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and Easter, with early closings on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, and the 4th of July.
Pay
Hourly salary range (exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location):
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA): $17.00 - $24.00
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): $21.00 - $28.00
