Medical Assistant (CMA/ EMT)

About the Role

Patriot Urgent Care, a leading urgent care operator in Maryland, is seeking a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (MA / LPN) to join our team in Clinton, MD. In this role, you will ensure a high-quality and consistent approach to patient care, acting as the liaison between patients and medical providers.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical intake, including obtaining patient’s medical history, current medications, chief complaint, vital signs, and record information within the EMR system.
• Administer medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood, and assist providers with procedures in/out of the exam room.
• Perform diagnostic tests, including eye exams, electrocardiograms, audiograms, peak flow, and other basic nursing functions.
• Conduct both DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens, ensuring proper chain of custody and preparation for laboratory shipment.
• Monitor disposable inventory, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals.
• Complete medical charting, including services rendered, test results, and supplies used.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant (Certified, Certified Clinical, Registered, or certificate of completion from school preferred but not required). Proof of current certification needed for CMAs.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with proof of current certification.
• Two years of clinical experience preferred.
• Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair when appropriate.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• We do not accept CNAs, EMTs, or PMDs.

Skills

• Strong customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of EMR systems.
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.

Schedule

Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week with rotation on weekends and some holidays. Travel to multiple clinic centers across the region may be required, with mileage paid for travel outside the home region.

Pay

Hourly Salary Range: $17.00 - $24.00 for Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
