About the role
Patriot Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant or EMT to join our team. This position ensures a high-quality and consistent approach to patient care, serving as a liaison between patients and medical providers.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional support to providers and team to ensure a seamless flow between examination and treatment.
- Escort or transport patients by wheelchair when appropriate.
- Administer medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood, and assist with procedures.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as eye exams, electrocardiographs, audiograms, peak flow, and other basic nursing functions.
- Complete medical charting, including medical services rendered, test results, and supplies used.
- Perform both DOT and non-DOT urine drug screens, ensuring proper documentation and chain of custody.
- Monitor and manage disposable inventory, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals.
- Complete administrative tasks such as obtaining patient medical history, vital signs, and records information within the EMR system.
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or a certificate of completion from a school (preferred but not required).
- Nurse (LPN) must provide proof of current certification.
- Two years of clinical experience preferred.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of EMR systems.
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to perform clinical intake, including obtaining patient medical history, current medications, chief complaints, vital signs, and records information within the EMR system.
- Ability to administer medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood, and assist with procedures.
- Ability to perform diagnostic tests and complete medical charting.
- Experience with performing both DOT and non-DOT urine drug screens.
- Knowledge of proper inventory management and supply usage.

Pay
Hourly salary range: $17.00 - $24.00 based on skills, experience, and location.
Schedule
Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week with a rotation on weekends and some holidays. Positions may require travel to multiple clinic centers across the defined region to support critical shifts. Access to reliable transportation is required. Mileage is paid for travel that occurs outside of your defined home region.
