Medical Assistant - Clinical Union Float Pool

About the role

The anticipated schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM - No weekends, Major Holidays off. This role will float between Cardiology, Wound, Endocrinology and Interventional Pain departments.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examination and treatment or anesthesia interview as applicable.
• Takes and records patient history and vital signs as applicable.
• Prepares exam and/or treatment rooms; select, setup and maintain medical supplies and equipment for all examinations, procedures and/or anesthesia interview as applicable.
• Gives injections, applies splints and dressings, and facilitates simple wound management under provider orders.
• Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
• Maintains patient files, records, and other information including entry of data into electronic medical record.
• May assist in scheduling patients for tests, initial and follow up appointments.
• Collaborates with a variety of personnel and departments to ensure smooth clinic operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Accredited Program Required: Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant that allows caregiver to sit for the MOA certification exam will be considered (e.g. associate degree in Allied Health).
• Apprenticeship Required: Medical Assistant.
• Minimum of 1 year.
• Preferred: experience in a medical office.
• WA State MA Certification.
• State of Washington Medical Assistant – certified licensure.
• State of Washington Medical Assistant – Interim Certified credential accepted.
• Caregiver must obtain Medical Assistant- Certified (Non-Interim) credential within 12 months of date of issuance of interim credential by the State of Washington.
• Upon Hire: Basic Life Support Skills.

Department / Location Specific Notes

• WASHINGTON: WA MA-C + National Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
• Working Conditions: Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH); Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures; Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts); Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA); Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).

Pay

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $26.76 – $36.03. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
