Responsibilities

  • Support HarmonyCares’ mission, vision, and core values by delivering compassionate assistance to patients, families, and team members.
  • Partner with Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, and Care Management Teams to provide patient care in a residential setting.
  • Coordinate daily travel itinerary and transport clinicians to scheduled appointments.
  • Prepare patients for examination, treatment, and minor procedures.
  • Secure patient consent forms and record patient care documentation accurately and timely.
  • Coordinate patient care as directed by clinicians, following company standards and policies.
  • Respect patient confidentiality and treat patients with courtesy and respect.
  • Perform phlebotomy (venipuncture only), EKG, or other procedures as requested by clinicians.
  • Label, store, and properly package specimens for lab delivery.
  • Assist in identifying and closing quality gaps, documenting and updating patient care plans, SDoH (Social Determinants of Health), and other assessments in the electronic medical record.
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments), OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatment, including supply inventory, medical bag, and vehicle (where applicable).
  • Ensure company vehicle is clean and follows a proper periodic maintenance schedule (where applicable).
  • Attend required meetings and in-services.

In this role, you may work with Primary Care Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Teams, Patients, and Patients’ Families.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or related medical education/training program, or 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist.
  • Current CPR certification that meets company guidelines.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Basic computer literacy, including EMR, iPad, and GPS experience.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Six months of experience in patient care, preferably geriatric care.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills.
  • Desire and ability to obtain MA certification within 180 days of hire.

Working Conditions

  • Full range of body motion, including handling/lifting patients.
  • Ability to drive up to 150 miles daily in urban and/or rural settings.
  • Ability to lift/carry items weighing up to 50 lb.
  • Ability to read and understand road maps.
  • Sit or stand for long periods of time.

Pay

Posted pay range: USD $24.00–$25.00 per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related considerations.
