Medical Assistant Clinic Float Pool

This position is in the Wasatch Back Float Pool, providing coverage for clinics in Park City and Heber. Although Park City is considered the home base, travel between clinics is required. Shifts may qualify for mileage reimbursement. The Wasatch Back Float Pool supports clinics open as early as 6:30 AM and as late as 7 PM Monday through Friday, as well as InstaCares open 7 days a week and holidays from 7:50 AM – 8 PM. Float Pool caregivers are expected to work the entire requested shift, typically 8-12 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Providing Patient Care: Under the direction of the Clinician, assist the provider in gathering information relevant to the patient’s visit and condition.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate clearly with patients seeking care through telephone and in-person interactions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to collaborate on patient care. Attention to detail and follow-through are key components in delivering needed care.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program (certification must be provided upon hire), or
  • At least one year of Medical Assistant experience (verified upon hire), or
  • Current RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers (must be obtained prior to start date).
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
  • Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
  • Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.
  • Utah Only: If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
  • Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
  • Current national MA certification from one of the following: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $20.07 - $28.59. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

Schedule

PRN (as needed – minimum of 4 days per pay period). Shifts may vary and typically range from 8-12 hours.
