About the role
Responsible for assisting physicians with patient care and various clerical, environmental and organizational tasks.
Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management.
Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services.
Conveys a positive image of clinic.
May be assigned to specific medical specialty (e.g., oncology) to help with patient care related to that specialty.
Responsibilities
- Assists physicians with patient care and various clerical, environmental and organizational tasks.
- Schedules appointments and manages patient charts.
- Communicates with patients to ensure they understand and can benefit from clinic services.
- Projects a positive image of the clinic.
- Supports patient care in specific medical specialties as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma.
- Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants, or one year of work experience as a Clinical Medical Assistant within the last 3 years.
- Obtained certification and is currently a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or obtains certification within the first year of employment.
- Maintains BLS certification.
