Role And Responsibilities

• Applies evidence-based guidelines from major regulatory and specialty groups.
• Prepares patients for primary care visits by performing pre-visit preparation.
• Collaborates with the primary care nurse and provider to conduct e-huddles using the Planned Care Dashboard.
• Supports virtual telehealth sessions using Zoom technology, including setting up virtual exam rooms and preparing patients.
• Administers administrative support tasks such as collecting paperwork, requesting records, and scheduling follow-up visits.
• Facilitates appropriate telehealth patient flow by supporting clinical teams.
• Prepares patients for visits, prioritizing work responsibilities to decrease waiting time.
• Collaborates with providers and staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Assists other team members as needed or requested.
• Schedules tests and referrals for specialty care in compliance with provider orders.
• Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe working environment.
• Stocks exam rooms and cleans areas at the end of each shift.
• Maintains infection control standards and adheres to safety policies.
• Ensures proper documentation of patient vital signs and performs CLIA-waived tests, EKGs, and hearing/vision tests.
• Maintains CPR certification annually.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited/recognized school.
• AAMA or NHA certification as a Medical Assistant, or AMT registration.
• EKG use, appointment scheduling, word processing, and familiarity with medical testing procedures.
• Sound organizational skills and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Team-focused and demonstrates leadership qualities.
• Current American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and AED certification (or equivalent).
