About the role

Seeking a certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Charleston Plastic Surgery, a premier practice specializing in full-body cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in patient care: Triaging, rooming patients, and assisting surgeons during consultations and procedures.
  • Coinciding appointments: Managing patient check-in/check-out, scheduling follow-ups, and verifying insurance benefits.
  • Administrative support: Scanning records, maintaining accurate documentation, and adhering to HIPAA and medical protocols.
  • Supporting clinic operations: Preparing exam rooms, ensuring a clean and efficient workspace, and floating between the front and back office as needed.

Qualifications

  • Certified MA (CCMA, CMA, or RMA) with at least 1 year of experience.
  • Previous experience in plastic surgery is preferred but not required.

Skills

  • Experience using Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Teams is a plus, as well as NextGen EMR, LeadingReach, and Rhinogram- we love technology!
  • Previous experience/knowledge of Obagi, Jane Iredale, and Tizo skincare products a plus.

  • Strong organizational skills, a polished and professional demeanor, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.

Empathy and compassion

  • Ability to support patients through pre- and post-operative care with sensitivity and understanding.

Flexibility

  • Willingness to travel between our Mt. Pleasant and Summerville locations as needed.
